Route audio on an iPad 4th gen?

I'm using my iPad 4 iOS 10.3.3 as a guitar amp sim.

The issue is that, as soon as I connect the iRig I use to plug the guitar in, I'm forced to use its headphone output, when I'd rather use the iPad's own speakers.

Is there some hack or app I can install to manage this?

I can downgrade to iOS 8 if there's an available solution in there, but no further (need to maintain compatibility with YAM display).
