is it worth getting emotionally invested if im gonna move

I moved to a different country for a certain project. I’m going to be here for 3 more years and I have been talking to this guy. After those years, I want to go back home and he would not like to move so is this worth it or am i going to regret it at the end? Should i just enjoy it at the moment since i dont even know if we are even going to last until then?😂 I do get attached strongly so i just know if we end up dating for long this will break me. What do i do?
