Delta out of MCO - checked baggage

Orlando is known for insanity. One of the competing airlines has common 1hr lines to check baggage.

Has anyone used delta out of mco and checked bags? Is it bad at 530a? I got tired of the crap from others and moved to Delta. So just curious about what to expect....

Don't really want to do carryon as the recent back problem makes it bad enough and making my pickup the carryone over my head is not a challenge I want. Any advise or experiences are welcome!
