Canadian Tourist Visa Application for a Non USA Citizen residing in USA. Answers to confusions in submitting passport to VFS/VAC.
My experience as an H4 visa holder residing in USA and applying for a Canadian visitor visa: If you have multiple applicants in your family you CAN make individual envelopes for each applicant (which includes individual return pre paid envelopes for passport return with name of each applicant in address, VAC/VFS consent form, passport submission doc from IRCC Canada, money order per applicant, and original passport) and then put it ALL of the envelopes in one large envelope and courier it to the VAC. I used Fedex (I paid only 12+ with trackability to send it to them plus $12 for each prepaid envelope per applicant). It works out cheaper than using their service. But a fair warning....my husband received his passport first and received all the status emails and texts and I did not. We opened his and found they had put my consent form by mistake with his (which they return with the stamped passport). So even though i received my passport a couple of days later I had not received any emails and texts about mine as the person processing the passports seem to have mixed our paperwork. Next time my husband and I may just send it separately as it still comes out cheaper than using their service.
The VAC/VFS consent form is also confusing: I read many posts about what to fill in it and finally did this:
I put current residence address in usa with usa phone no and email id (not my indian passport address). I only filled the second page out (first is only instructions) and left the other two pages blank as I had already done my biometrics. But I still sent all the pages even though it was blank to them per applicant.
