‎قال العلامة عبدالعزيز السلمان رحمه الله:

‎ومَن** عَلِم** ما يَنْشَأ عن الكرةِ من ضياع صلاةٍ وضياع** أوقاتٍ، وكلام فاحش مِن لعنٍ وقذفٍ وانكشاف** عورة وأضرار بدنية،** وقيل وقال،** ونسيان لذكر الله لم يشك في تحريم** لعبها الذي ينشأ عنه** ذلك** أو بعضه** من البالغين العاقلين.

al ‘Allāmah ‘Abdul ‘Azīz al Salmān (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

«And whoever knows what results from ball games (like football) —such as neglecting prayer, wasting time, obscene speech including cursing and slander, exposure of the private parts, physical harms, idle talk and gossip, and neglect of the remembrance of Allah—will have no doubt regarding the prohibition of playing them when they lead to these things, or to some of them, among adults of sound mind.»
