Broken USB micro jack fix?

Hi, I broke my USB micro port socket right off the Prusa Mini Original’s motherboard. Any ideas on how to get it to connect via serial again or is that it for this old machine? It looks like I could use the UART on the board and get a serial to USB converter plugged right into it? Or is that a bad idea? There’s no way I can solder back on that micro jack, it’s too hard without disassembling the printer to get access to the board and that’s too much work.
