Woodhaven/Trenton train monitor

Hey folks,

With Allen road being out of commission in Woodhaven for construction, I'd found myself sitting on Van Horn wondering how long the train had been on the track more than usual, so I put together a small website and android app. It watches the public rail crossing cameras in Woodhaven (Van Horn & King) and Trenton (Fort St) at downrivertrains.com

The idea is to be able to check a crossing at a quick glance with a widget or get push notifications in real time when a crossing is being blocked. If you're curious the website gives stats on average train blocking times and a running history of when the blockages happen.

If you deal with these crossings regularly, you can join a closed beta test for the app, by joining the google group. After you join the group, the app can be downloaded here. The app is free, no advertisements, and no accounts needed. Any testing and feedback would be appreciated!

I'm looking at ways to get some additional local crossings added now. I'd especially love to be able to watch the other side of the CN station in the Vreeland corridor.

All of this is built and hosted locally, and I'd be happy to answer any questions in the comments.
