Hey everyone, I want to tell you a little story before getting to the ask.
Growing up, Saturday mornings were sacred in our house. Me and my brother would wake up before anyone else, sneak into the living room, and park ourselves in front of the TV for cartoons. We did not care about sleep. We did not care about breakfast. It was just the two of us, a bowl of Kellogg's Chocos and whatever was playing on screen, all while our grandpa snoring behind us lol.
My brother moved to a different city last year for college. The house got quieter in a way I did not expect. We still text a lot, but it is not the same as having someone right there next to you losing their mind over the same thing at the same time.
A few months ago he started playing Cuphead and would not stop sending me clips. Little videos of him getting destroyed by Hilda Berg, voice notes of him absolutely ranting about the Grim Matchstick fight, and then one long call where he walked me through the whole King Dice sequence like he was telling me about something that happened to him in real life. I sat there listening and genuinely felt like we were back on that living room floor.
That is when I realized I wanted to play it too. Not just to play a good game, which it clearly is, but so that when he calls me frustrated about a boss, I know exactly what he is talking about. So we can be bad at the same thing together, just from different cities. 😭 Also I'll get bragging rights if I am better than him lmao.
Even at the sale price it is a stretch for me this month. If anyone here feels like helping a sibling duo relive their cartoon morning energy, I would be genuinely grateful. And I will absolutely report back with boss rage stories.
