It's okay not to change.
When a relationship ends, it's normal to think that we should change what hurt the other person; it's a noble feeling, but one that can become toxic.
Sometimes I thought that if I changed, she would come back, that maybe if I were a better person, she would have stayed. A relationship takes two.
We have to accept that we try to change, and that's something to be grateful for, and we should be proud because past relationships leave you with invaluable lessons.
It may not be enough to cause a tremendous physical and mental change, but it does give you an overview of your life.
In my case, breaking up with my ex-partner showed me how valuable hobbies like reading or writing are to me, hobbies I used to avoid because they weren't "productive".
