How to learn new characters without throwing?

So I’ve been trying to learn to play shiv. The problem is, I get my ass kicked in actual matches and feel like a dick for wasting an hour of my teammates time on a match they lost through no fault of their own. Especially at the end of the match when in 2-7 and it’s clearly my fault we’re losing, because I know how frustrating that is to be on the other end of. But he seems fun and I want to play him. I’ve tried practicing in bot matches, but no only are they comically easy, the bots suck in ways that feel unrealistic, like getting stuck running into walls, abandoning urn whenever they want, or leaving you alone just before a kill to run urn.

Does anyone have any solutions or tips?
