I, 52F, asked my husband 55m to take four days off work to help me post total knee replacement surgery. He is WFH but has meetings or gets on calls and can’t always come help me right away. I had surgery on Tuesday stayed overnight in hospital until Wednesday evening. I asked him to take of Thurs, Fri, Mon, Tues but he said that’s too much. He has unlimited time off and rarely uses it and manages a small team, and I believe others can help in his absence. I need help getting up off the couch, food and drinks brought to me because I need a walker, and help with exercises and elevating my leg, icing it, etc. On top of that he should be cleaning, cooking, laundry etc (all the things I do). He is refusing to stop working and thinks he can give me the help and attention I need. Am I the asshole for wanting full time help for a few days?
