So long Passport

So just under a year of ownership in my 2026 and I have traded it in and moved on.

Let’s start with the good. The design is great, nothing I would have really chanced. Interior is roomy with a premium but simple user friendly design. Lots of features and felt very safe in a big vehicle. I’m sure it would have performed great off road but never had the chance to try it.

The bad. Probably many of the regulars here know that I’ve been very vocal about the 10 speed transmission. I’ve had harsh jerky shifts since day one. On most occasion it was so bad it would buck the vehicle forward when coming to a stop. Brought it to the dealership twice and was told it’s normal and that’s the nature of the transmission. Other issues were clunking front end under braking. Was told that is normal, a critical charging system failure. The dealership said no code stored, nothing can be done. Also clunking when in reverse and hitting the brakes (which actually resolved itself after 3,000 miles).

Although I had these issues and probably some I’m forgetting about I truly did like the vehicle. I just couldn’t get over the transmission. I took delivery of my new vehicle today and a couple hours later i opened my email and saw a message from Honda saying congrats on 1 year. Made me actually sad.

If anyone is wondering I bought a tesla model 3 premium awd (I know a huge difference). I drive 6 miles round trip for work and I’m able to charge at home. I thought no engine or transmission, let’s give it a try. I hope the next owner of my passport takes care of it and gets many good years out of it. Wishing you guys all the best with your passports.
