How I survived hanging myself
I survived hanging myself in 2015 because the belt I used broke after I passed out. All I remember is changing my mind and starting to climb back up on the chair to get out, and my memory of it is weird because I thought I got all the way back up on the chair and took the belt back off from around my neck, but then the next thing I was aware of was laying on the floor below the doorway loudly gasping for air. It reminded me of when I fell out of a tree one time and had the breath completely knocked out of me, and once I got air back in my lungs, that loud labored breathing I was doing for a little bit afterwards. So I must have blacked out while I was climbing back up on the chair and fell back down again. I didn't actually have any kind of out of body experience that I can remember, as far as I know it was just nothing.
At first I didn't even notice I still had part of the belt around my neck, and just got up and walked upstairs and wandered around a little bit. Once I got enough oxygen back in my brain, then I realized half of the belt was still around my neck and the other half with the knot tied in the end was still sitting on top of the door. My dad and stepmother were out of town at the time, but when they got back, I showed the belt to my dad and told him what happened. He didn't believe me, and told me it looked like I just cut the belt with scissors and excused me of making the whole story up trying to get attention. To be fair, it really did look like it was sliced instead of torn.
Like I said my memory of it is confusing, but as far as I know, I blacked out and then woke up again some amount of time after the belt broke and I fell on the floor. No one in my family really believes me, actually, no one believes me. I even told a pastor about it at a church I used to go to, and he acted like he didn't even believe me. But it did happen. My dad doesn't realize he and my stepmom would have come home and found me dead. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a different timeline now because I've been through so many strange things since then and nothing in my life ever makes sense anymore.
