How to look better with foundation on?

I’m either using dior or EL double wear foundation with DM blurring balm underneath.. my makeup looks amazing at first but then breaks down/looks patchy. I need to wear foundation because I have a lot of redness but it looks awful at the end of the day, or even after 1 hour. I have oily skin
