Should I repair my car or buy a new one?

What should I do?

Spend around £2k to repair my 2012 Suzuki Alto SZ4, with 60k miles, (it has a broken timing chain), or scrap it and buy a used 20k mileage Suzuki Swift 2023 Hybrid with an automatic CVT for £14k.

Which is the best option?

I want a reliable economical car. I'm concerned about buying used cars because I wouldn't know if there is defects so I'm looking to buy from dealerships, is there any other suggestions?
