No binder on the first week??

Hi there!

I just got my top surgery done. It was a mastectomy with preventative care so basically they pulled all the tissue out cause I tested positive for the BRAKA gene. So basically my tissue was taken out and they reconstructed with the extra skin.

I was told not to wear a binder til my post op appointment so for the first week I didn’t have a binder or bandages. Anyone else get this kind of treatment? Cause now I’m very confused as to why I need it a week after the surgery?
