Thinking of dual-booting Bazzite with an RTX 3070 Ti + Quest 2.
I'm looking to dual-boot Bazzite alongside Windows 11 and wanted to see if anyone with a similar setup can point out any issues I might run into before I start formatting drives.
My specs:
- Ryzen 7 3800X
- RTX 3070 Ti
- Meta Quest 2
- Storage: 1TB SSD and a 500GB SSD. Plan is to leave Windows on the 500GB one and put Bazzite on the 1TB drive.
A few specific things I'm trying to figure out:
- The main reason I'm dual-booting instead of completely switching is Rainbow Six Siege. I know the anti-cheat doesn't work on Linux at all, so that's probably staying on the Windows drive.
- For single-player stuff, I need to know if games like DMC, GOW:R, Metaphor Refantazio, Persona saga, No man's sky, etc. work well, or better on Linux than in Windows. Since I'm on Nvidia, are there any tweaks or launch options I need to know about for game mode?
- VR is my biggest problem. I play a lot of Beat Saber and HL: Alyx. I'm planning to use WiVRn with my Quest 2. How is the encoding latency on a 3070 Ti under Linux? is it difficult to tweak?
- I have a good amount of emulation (planning on EmuDeck for BOTW/TOTK) and some standalone offline installers for non-Steam single-player games. What's the best way to handle standalone Windows .exe files on Bazzite? Just adding them as a non-steam game, or using something like Lutris/Bottles?
