First car: Don’t like SUVs but want many safety features

So I’m finally learning to drive and my dad doesn’t want me driving his nice expensive cars so he plans on buying me a cheaper one. We were both curious what the best options were under 50k max but preferably closer to under 35k.

I want pretty much as safe as you can get without it being an SUV. I just don’t like SUVs and frankly don’t trust myself with one. I’d love the ability for things like Apple CarPlay and a nice backup cam at least but preferably a whole camera system to help with parking. Heads up display preferred but not necessary. Doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just safe and reliable.

Anyone have any recommendations I can take a look at? I’ve been recommended Honda, Toyota, and Subaru but no specific models. It doesn’t have to be one of those but those are the main three I hear. Just want to see my options.
