Bite splint causing nicotine sensitivity?
Hey y’all,
I recently (2 days ago) started bite splint therapy for my TMJ. My disc is out of place and malformed so this is the first step in a long journey. Unfortunately, I am also struggling with a nicotine addiction and currently use Zyns/Ons (2-3mgs), mostly at work. I know it’s bad, especially with this splint, and I am trying to decrease my usage so I can hopefully quit in this next week or two.
However, I’ve been noticing really crazy dizziness, nausea, headaches, etc. (classic ‘nic sick’ symptoms) that are lasting for 1-2 hours which I don’t normally get with using pouches. This only started 2 days ago when I got my splint. I’ve been using these products for over a year at this point, so I’m confused as to why this is happening. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this? I was thinking maybe because my saliva isn’t travelling throughout my mouth as much it’s causing it to be more potent than it normally is, but not sure if anyone else has more ideas. Anyway, it’s definitely sending me in the right direction of quitting since I can’t tolerate the pouches anymore 🙃
