Running 5 apps at once for my physical D&D table was killing my laptop, so I built a centralized DM projection tool. Alpha 1.0.0-alpha.3 launches tonight!

Self Promotion

Hey everyone,

I love running D&D games for my friends, and over the years, I started pushing our setup to be more immersive and dynamic. I ended up adding a bunch of tech to our physical table: a secondary monitor to show player reference images (NPCs, scenery, monsters), a projector aimed at the table to display battle maps, and my laptop to run the whole show.

However, my actual DM experience quickly turned into a nightmare of window management. I was using OBS Studio to control the screens, Chrome tabs for projection mapping, YouTube for music, and folders of images scattered everywhere. My laptop was burning up, resources were heavily choked, and the whole flow felt clunky and disorganized. Worst of all, trying to trigger quick sound effects smoothly mid-combat was practically impossible.

Frustrated by the clutter, I set out to build a solution tailored specifically for this setup: a centralized, lightweight desktop tool for Dungeon Masters to manage multi-screen tabletop projection and audio from a single clean dashboard.

It started as a personal project, but after seeing how much it improved my own prep and game flow, I realized other DMs with TV/projector tables might find it useful too.

I'm super excited to announce that tonight at 7:00 PM PDT (America/Los Angeles), I am dropping version 1.0.0-alpha.3!

Along with several optimizations, this new build finally introduces global localization support. You can now toggle the entire interface between English (default), Spanish, Chinese, Russian, French, and Portuguese.

What's inside the tool right now:

  • Dual-Window Framework: A private DM Control Panel on your main screen, and a perfectly clean, cursor-free Projection window for your players' monitor or projector.
  • Dynamic Grid & Fog of War: Quick masking tools to hide/reveal map sections seamlessly.
  • Integrated Soundboard: A 32-pad sound effect matrix and an ambient audio looper with independent volume sliders and procedural reverb spaces (Cave, Cathedral, etc.) so you don't need external audio players.
  • Perspective Correction: Built-in manual mesh warping to adjust the map if your projector or screen is slightly off-angle.
  • Multi-language Support (New in Alpha 3): Full UI translations for English, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, French, and Portuguese.

I have a ton of ideas to keep expanding this tool, but right now, I really need real-world feedback from fellow DMs. If you want to test it out, break things, and tell me what features you'd want to see next, the new Alpha build will be available for free here starting at 7 PM PDT:
