positive experiences please!

hello! i am 18 and have recently gotten into my first serious relationship. we have had sex a few times and used condoms, but i am planning on getting on birth control in the next month or so. my main choice is the copper iud because it is hormone free, but i have been seeing videos/comments of people saying it is horrible. i know everyone is different, but as an already anxious person (especially about my health) i was hoping some of you could share some positive thoughts on it to help ease my mind a little. if you did have a bad experience, i am open to hearing it, but please no fear mongering!!!
