I’m looking for someone passionate about writing who would like to connect and encourage one another. I don’t have a whole lot of friends who like to write, and I’ve been feeling a little lonely about it lately, so I’m hoping to find a friend who shares similar interests.

I’m a very enthusiastic person and I WILL be excited to hear about your ideas and offer feedback and encouragement (although I might be shy asking for it in return, but I would be so grateful for it). I would love to talk about our research and our ideas and any weird little interests you’re considering pursuing and writing about. And if you’re interested, we could even try collaborative writing together!

I tend to write fantasy / fairy tale things. I like narratives that are strange and dreamlike. I’ve been interested in the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale recently, I think it has a lot of potential as a sort of metaphor for depression. I like to study fairy tales informally, so you’ll probably hear a lot of random things about random tales!

The story I’ve been working on lately is about a Queen whose body has turned to glass and the dream archivist recording her dreams. It was inspired by some weird dreams I had and a historical Princess who had glass delusion (she believed she swallowed a glass piano and that it was still in her stomach and might shatter). It’s going a little slowly, though. I haven’t shared writing with someone in several years, so I don’t know if it’s actually interesting or not, but I’m having fun writing it at the very least!

We don’t have to write the same genres to connect; I just want to talk to someone about writing. I don’t have any preferences around your genres or your gender, just please be around my age or older!
