Not sure if I got rejected or not…

Hi everyone

I’m confused about my application status and wondering if anyone has experienced something similar. I accidentally applied to the same job using two different email addresses.

With Email A:

Completed the recruiter screen
Completed the portfolio interview
Interview was 3 days ago
All communication and interview scheduling happened through this email directly with the recruiter

With Email B:

Received an invitation for an initial recruiter call
Never booked or attended the call

Today I noticed that both applications show as “Archived” in the applicant portal (Smart Recruiters)

I then received a rejection email, but it was sent only to Email B from an automated recruitment email address. The email was signed with my recruiter’s name and said: “I wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to interview…”

What confuses me is that I never interviewed using Email B. All interviews and communication happened through Email A, and I haven’t received any rejection email there.

Has anyone had duplicate applications merged before? If so, did the system send a rejection to the duplicate application while the active one was still under review? Or does this likely mean I’ve been rejected overall and the email was just sent to the second email address by mistake?

Would appreciate any insights from people who have seen something similar.
