Quitting a DSO!

Hey guys, dentist looking for honest feedback from people who've been through something similar.

I've been with a DSO for almost two years and I'm seriously considering leaving with zero notice. My contract doesn't require a notice period (30 days is only tied to rehire eligibility), so legally I'm in the clear, but I keep going back and forth on it.

Backstory: I've spent over a year chasing updates on a CE/training program I already partially completed, with constant delays and a dental director who basically went silent for months. When I finally escalated it in writing, I got an email back claiming this director had tried to call/text me on a specific date about it. I checked my call historyand texts, nothing. Zero record of any call or text from that number on that date. I responded with screenshots proving it and asked to keep everything in writing going forward.

Their response? Suddenly my standing with the company was poor until I had a phone call with them, and the CE program (the thing I've been chasing for over a year and initiated) was framed as basically contingent on that call happening. Just vague "uncertainty" that appeared the moment I provided proof he was lying.

So now I'm dealing with someone fairly senior who got caught making something up, and instead of owning it, pivoted to implying my job is on the line unless I get on a call with no paper trail. I've declined and kept everything in email since.

I'm not worried about finding work, I already have interviews lined up and temp work available immediately. My questions:

  • Did you give notice when leaving a toxic DSO situation, or go no-contact effective immediately?
  • Any regrets either way?
  • Anyone else have a director/exec straight up lie about contacting them and then use it as leverage?
  • Also just nervous in general since I've never quit a job with no notice before, this would be a first for me

Genuinely just want to hear how this played out for others before I send anything.
