How do you decide on the plushie when buying in-store?

I always had this issue where when I go to a store in person and there are a bunch of the same plush, i become conflicted on which one to choose. Most of the time there are only small differences between them, but they all feel unique! How do you decide which one is right for you? I usually go for the one I picked up first, but idk if i should change that lol.

(Reason being that there's this limited time pokemon center pop-up in my area that supposedly has pokemon sitting cuties, and im really hoping my favorite pokemon is there. I want to be sure i pick the "perfect" one of the bundle if that makes sense to anyone else?)
