Working in Japan for 15 years, married for 2.5 years. Current visa is spouse type. Which PR route to take?

Can I apply through working route despite being on spouse visa now? (just got renewed to 3 year version, after having 1 year the first time. before that was 13 years of working visa)

Should I wait until 3 years of marriage (January) to apply via spouse route?

Or should I apply via spouse route now and hope that by the time they get around to checking it, I will have been married for 3 years? Has anyone had success with that?

Would like to apply before the prices increase but not sure if that will happen before january.
