I feel like the "License to Kill" mechanic in this game is way too rigid and restrictive
The "License to Kill" mechanic in 007: First Light honestly feels like a lazy design choice. I get that IOI wants players to slow down, explore, and fully experience the maps they meticulously designed by putting a lot of restrictions on combat. I can respect that for a first playthrough, but it absolutely ruins the replay value. If I want to switch up my playstyle on a second or third playthrough, it’s practically impossible. You’re forced to play it like a Mike Tyson simulator.
For example, one second I’m literally in a gunfight, but the moment I push through a flimsy door into the next area, my weapons are forcefully holstered as if nothing happened. Realistically, everyone in the next room should have heard the gunshots, but the game just resets the state because of these rigid zone restrictions.
Even in the Egypt desert mission, where you infiltrate a literal rogue terrorist base with zero civilians around, the game still restricts your weapon usage. It makes no tactical sense.
Honestly, at this point, they should just rename the game 007: Tyson’s Punch-Out.
Even so, I still really like this game because you can play it like Uncharted.
