Can anyone tell me what the white noodle thing was in my enchilada sauce?

I can't really get a picture bc when I tried to poke it it broke apart but there was a curved noodle type thing (half and inch to inch long) in my enchilada sauce. I think it fell from the edge of the can but not sure. The noodle was white-ish and looked slightly concave in the middle but hard to tell bc it was thin, maybe even thinner than angel hair. It was the only one in there. The can was not dented but it was expired for about 2 months. Is it safe to eat?
