Chapel Run and the surrounding neighborhoods value peace, safety, and a strong sense of community. The proposed Leigh Village development threatens to dramatically change the character of our area with high-density construction, heavy traffic, and environmental strain.

Our continued fight was recently challenged when the Durham County City Council voted 5–2 to approve the rezoning of the land planned to support the Leigh Village development. Our primary concern about this development is the exclusion of a traffic impact analysis study that should have been completed per the UDO. The infrastructure does not currently support the influx of traffic associated with this development.

We’re not giving up.

With the support of our attorney, we have filed an appeal—but to move forward, we must fund both legal costs and an independent traffic impact analysis that should have been done from the start.

This is about the safety of our roads, our families, and our community. We are raising funds to cover these critical expenses and ensure our voices are heard.

Every donation helps us continue this fight for responsible, transparent development. Please consider contributing and sharing.

If we do win our case and recoup our lawyer fees, monies will be refunded.
