Am I being gaslight
Here’s a cleaner version with the same meaning and emotion:
Just for some context, my boyfriend and I both came into our relationship with kids from previous relationships, but we don’t have any children together.
One evening, we were laying in bed watching a movie where a pregnant wife was being cheated on. During the movie, my boyfriend said, “I could never do something like that because I’m not a cheater, but pregnant sex is the best sex.”
I took that personally because we don’t have kids together, so naturally the only people I could assume he was referring to were his exes. It made me feel uncomfortable and confused, like what exactly was he trying to say?
He told me I was taking it too personally and claimed he wasn’t referring to his exes. But I responded by saying those are the women he got pregnant and had sex with, so who else would he be talking about?
Then the conversation turned into him making it seem like I just wanted to stay mad for no reason. Yes, he apologized multiple times, but at the same time, his attitude made it feel like he wanted to be upset more than I did.
