Internet went out for a couple of minutes... really a 6 hour ban for first time temporary disconnect?

I'm pretty sure this is my first ever DC with 279 games. My ISP dipped out for 3-5 minutes, and I rejoined after my modem restarted. I was able to get somewhat caught up on souls and we ended up pulling through and winning. I was still given a 6 hour ban for what I think is my first offense? I didn't think it would be so harsh, especially with re-joining as soon as possible, do they have guidelines on this kind of thing?
