How I Boosted My Grade 10 Average from 73.2 to 99.56 Using These 3 Key Habits

Tips/Help

I'm a Grade 10 student, and many people ask me how I improved my average from 73.2 to 99.56. It wasn't magic, and it didn't happen overnight. There is one important exception before I share anything: dedication matters. Being willing to sit down, focus, and study consistently over a long period of time is what makes any method work.

These are the three main habits that helped me the most:

  1. Give Full Attention to the Teacher in Class

This is more important than most students think. When your teacher is explaining a lesson, pay close attention and try to understand it right there in the classroom. If you listen carefully, you reduce the amount of time you'll spend struggling to learn the topic later. Understanding starts in class, not at home.

  1. Re-read Every Lesson After School

Every day, I review the lessons that were taught on that same day. This simple habit strengthens long-term memory and makes exam preparation much easier. Instead of trying to learn everything before the exam, you're constantly refreshing your knowledge throughout the year.

  1. Understand Topics in Simple Terms

One thing I learned is that new ideas explained with difficult words can feel overwhelming. Whenever I encounter a new topic, I try to understand the core idea in the simplest way possible. Sometimes I even take a photo of my notes and ask ChatGPT to explain the concept using simple language. Once I understand the main idea, reading the rest of the notes becomes much easier.

These three habits were the foundation of my improvement. They may sound simple, but applying them consistently can make a huge difference in your grades.

Of course, everyone's learning style is different, and these methods may not work exactly the same for everyone. But if you're looking for a place to start, I highly recommend these three habits.

Do you have any study tips that work for you? I'd love to hear your suggestions and learn new ways to study more effectively.
