Choosing a vape for flower/problems with medicarts

Question :snoo_shrug:

Hi all, I’m pretty new to medical cannabis (started a year or so ago) and don’t need to use it very often. I have previously used medicarts, but have had repeated problems with them gumming up and becoming unusable. I have tried cleaning them, storing upright, gentle warming, and a few other tips from here, but I haven’t managed to solve this problem. I’ve tried with several different pens and all have ended up sticky with resin. The doctor suggested it maybe because my usage is infrequent, and perhaps flower would be better.

If anyone has any other tips on keeping the medicarts useable that would be great as I really liked the convenience of them. My useage would be maybe once or twice a week, but sometimes I can go a couple of weeks with minimal symptoms and I wouldn’t need it during those times.

If I have to switch to flower then so be it, but I have looked at the different vapes available, and the approved ones here are so expensive! It’s a big outlay if I end up disliking it.

Is it best to stick with one of the approved ones? What are the advantages/disadvantages of each of those?
Are there non approved ones which anyone can recommend? I don’t need to be super accurate with dosing as I don’t need much. Are they all going to be more of a faff than the medicarts? I would prefer to buy one that is more straightforward to set up than a regular bong but don’t know if that’s possible. Do I also need a grinder or is there any other equipment which would make using flower quick and easy?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks
