Why have two massive baseball tournaments at the same time?

Why do we have the CWS coinciding with Slumpbuster (the largest little league tournament in the world)? It absolutely makes sense to do this for the kids to be able to go to the college games. But Slumpbuster brings in an estimated 8.400 little leaguers, not to mention parents and siblings. Would it not make more economic sense to have it once the CWS is over? I'm sure CWS ticket sales would lessen but then visitors could find better accommodations than $300+ for a 3 star hotel across the river.
