Air Conditioning 2016 Civic

My air conditioning has stopped working for the 5th time in 6 years. Each time Honda has repaired it under the “extended warranty/recall” for either the compressor or the shaft seal that plagues these units. So frustrating.

Now that my car is just past 10 years since purchase date, Honda no longer wants to pay for the repair.

It’s obvious the OEM compressor is junk, and I am considering an aftermarket compressor. However, I worry the aftermarket compressors may be even worse. Has anyone had success for a more permanent fix for the AC issue? Or an aftermarket compressor recommendation?
