25 M (USA) Looking to form close friendships.

Hi there, 25 M here. Let's face it, making friends on here is not ideal given how easy it is to be left with people that ghost, don't put much effort, or act suspiciously. Eventually, you are going to run into all these types of people sooner or later. I'm not looking to reach out to such individuals but rather those that are truly looking to establish a strong friendship. I'm only going to respond to introductions and not just a single hello.

A little more about myself, I’m disabled and so I would describe myself as more of a homebody. I have a degree in psychology, I enjoy a wide variety of topics and I do like learning about areas that are new to me. I enjoy playing video-games mainly on PlayStation 5 and Switch. I have been playing chess and would like to improve at it. I've recently been getting back into Final Fantasy 14 after quite a long break so it would be cool to find someone that plays it as well.

I’m going to be clear about what I’m looking for, I’d like to have a friend who is from the US and in a similar timezone as me (eastern standard time) so it’s easy to message and plan spending time together. Availability is important so please be at a point in your life where you have the time to message/hang out regularly. I am open to doing voice calls, playing games together, or watching shows. I don’t really get along with people that bounce around different friends or just can’t commit to an individual friendship. Additionally, messaging is a two-way street and requires both parties to put in effort. If I notice that the other person never messages on their own then I’m probably going to call the friendship off.

I’m one of those people that is really looking for a friend who’s in it for the long run and I do want to be a friend that can be relied on and puts in effort to invest in a quality connection. I’m fine with things not working out as long as there’s clear communication so it’s easy for both of us to move on if necessary. Please reach out if you think we may be a good fit!
