How often do y'all get managers who sell shit even after you show them the customer doesn't need it?
We got a new manager. Today I pulled in a car with 30K miles. They supply us with brake fluid strip testers. Dip it in the fluid and it'll turn different shades of pinkish to dark purple depending on how much copper corrosion is in the system.
So I showed boss man the strip, said the fluid is still really clean and full. He says "Yeah, well, I'm going to recommend it anyways cause they're at 30,000" they said no though.
Then later I'm working on another car with 33K. The strip yet again, shows that his fluid is very clean. He has plenty of fluid too. The pads and rotors look like they were done maybe a few months ago. I showed him the strip test again. He again says "Well I'm going to recommend it anyways"
This is our first week with the guy.
He also immediately told us we have to pay for any repairs we do to our own cars. My coworker was doing an oil change and 2 tires on his GFs car. Boss man asks him if he wants a fuel injection cleaning service. Coworker says sure. Boss man gives him the price, same exact price a regular customer would pay.
Needless to say, everyone hates him already. I've never had a boss eagerly inform us that we have to pay labor rate (half) to fix our own cars with our own hands. Well, there was one. But when I worked for this other guy, he was talking about a 500K home he wanted, then our bonuses stopped coming in.
