How long did your piercings survive pregnancy?

I’m currently pregnant and wondering what other people’s experiences have been with nipple piercings during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Mine are about 4 years old, fully healed, and have implant-grade titanium straight barbells. They’ve been trouble-free for years, but now that I’m pregnant they’re definitely more sensitive and occasionally a little irritated as my breasts are changing.

I love them and would like to keep them as long as possible, but I’m not sure if that’s realistic. Did you end up removing yours during pregnancy, or did you wait until closer to delivery? If you breastfed afterward, were you able to put them back in, or did you retire them for good?

I’d love to hear how things went for you and whether there was a point where keeping them just became uncomfortable.
