Referral bonus question
I’m a lead carpenter for a small but established bathroom and kitchen design outfit. Before getting hired I was a self employed contractor. That grind got to me so I moved to this company. An old client contacted me, wanting to renovate two large bathrooms and a walk in closet. I told them I now work for a company that does just that and we would be happy to help them. They came in, we got the job, and I executed it. Went pretty smoothly. Clients are very pleased. The contract was about 220k all said and done. Is there any standard on on compensating an employee for the referral? I do not expect anything, since the owners of the company are two feuding brothers who only care about themselves and how much time they can take off a year.
tldr, I got my company a 220k contract and think I deserve a bonus.
