What are points in the remakes that you think didn't work, or needed a second pass?

SpoilerForum question

This can be anything, a costume update that you didn't think work. A story beat that was fine in the original, or even a new that the devs made, that isn't as effective or conflicts with the story. A mechanic that was taken away or added that didn't work. Something the devs fundamentally missed or misinterpreted. Like anything that you felt like somebody should have taken another look over. Here are a few of mine

Re2:

  • For the costumers, and weapon nuts; A lot of Leon and Hunks equipment didn't come out/ exist till the 2000s. Leon's vest didn't even begin development for U.S marines till 2002. We're in 1998.
  • Leon getting called to stay away wasn't needed and also at times is confusing. (Trying to make it seem like he's brave going after being told to stay away but also, he doesn't know anything at gas station. Did he not try to find out what was going on first. No concern about the government quarantine.
  • How hyper advanced Nest's tech was for all areas, not just B.O.W research including interior design. (If this advance why not just go full tech and use that to fund B.O.W researchers? Using the modern windows outlook inbox for emails, fitbit ID's, Flatscreens. Reminded me more of 2015 Jurassic World.) - Ark from 9 even realized this.
  • Kind of obvious game was always only going to be A scenario only after playing (No true telling of "Two sides to every story", lack of radio calls and interaction.)
  • Wow Sheery got over her mom dying real fast in that ending.

Re3:

  • Nemesis is the defention of a relentless hunter that is slowly falling apart at the seams but will do anything to get it's target, to the point of even cannibalizing a super tyrant to continue its hunt; and even still crawling after Jill as a torso with one arm and a leg. Remake makes him another giant mutating monster like he's infected with the G-virus. (Feels like copy and paste of Birkin's scare factor from 2)

Re4:

  • Operation Javier was confusingly explained in the Remake to the point people were trying to figure if Leon was part of it still or not.
  • Krauser being Leon's mentor felt like the most basic/overused troupe they could have selected to add to his character
  • Ada offering Leon a ride in the helicopter like that was a legitimate option, and surprised that Wesker wants to create a super deadly Bioweapon, and Leon doing nothing to stop Ada as she walks to said helicopter with a deadly bioweapon.

Love to hear what people are like. I don't think this was the best choice here.
