BFIE epileptic child
Hi my daughter is three years old and got diagnosed with epilepsy at six months old as an infant. With that being said, we have been under control now for over a year, but stopped Keppra in September and stopped Trileptal one month ago. Trileptal was our godsend, but now I’m wondering if there was something else that the medication was helping with more mood disorder based. Since being off of this medication, she has had what I would typically call a temper tantrum, but not daily. It’s like her whole body goes into fight or flight and she screams goes red faced and is just inconsolable. Earlier I came across a post of a woman that had written almost the exact same thing I’m talking about. She said she is in this group. I really would like to connect with her. I sent her a message, but if anybody has had any similar experiences with this please let me know. She has always been pretty violent towards her now 11 month old brother but it seems way more aggressive lately. Choking, hitting, kicking him, scratching his face. Idk please help me
My father was bipolar and had sudden anger outburst syndrome and I just idk. Any and all discipline is a mere suggestion to her. Spanking, timeouts, even a capful of vinegar (my childhood daycare worker did this to us) because I am not gonna sit here and scream at her nor beat on my child.
