how good is the galaxy watch coming from an apple watch long time user?

hi, so i've been using the apple eco system for a long time now and i thought it was time to grow a pair of balls and get a galaxy phone (samsung galaxy s24 ultra). i really want to get a galaxy watch but im not sure how good it is. i was thinking about getting the galaxy watch 6 (base or classic) since its the best one i can get due to my budget being too limited.

i mostly used my apple watch for checking my mail, health tracking, checking the weather and time (quit obvious) and some light apps. would the galaxy watch 6 be good enough for these tasks? and would it get at least 2 more years of software updated?

any help will appreciated ❤️
