"A field of flowers that hold the memories of me"

Hi this is my first script that i have actually completed. But its a bit of a sad one. I hope everyone likes it. Any advice for improving my writing is appreciated. I tried to write this similarly to how i write stage plays and fanfics so its a bit messy.

~ Script starts here ~

{open to forest sounds, light rain pittering on the metal of armor}

Knight: [Ragged breathing, struggling to speak through the breaths] I...I need to get back. They...they need to know.

{wet footsteps, clanking of armor}

Knight: [Breathing audible and rigid] I can...can see the edge of the tree line.

{More rushed wet footsteps, Knight trips on tree root falling hard into the field. They look around and see that they are not out of the forest but in a field of flowers.}

Knight: [Pained groan, Panicked] no...no...noo...this was the right way back. I know it. [rapid breathes, the sound of the knight pulling off their helmet and throwing it. It thuds against a rock. Frustrated groan]

Knight: [deep breathing, trying to recollect themselves] It's okay...I'm okay...we're okay...everything is okay...

{Rain starts to pick up.}

Knight: [stands with groans of pain and clanking of a sword at their hip] Fuck... [Dry laugh] I think I can see a tree for cover.

{it's not clear but the knight's footsteps are now a bit uneven.}

Knight: [Breathes heavy, whispered] I need to see them. [stranded tone] They need to be informed of the attack coming. I need them to get out. I need...[voice trailing off as they thud against the tree.]

Knight: I...wow...these flowers are the same from their garden. [knight starts to sniffle as tears get mixed in with the rain drops that have slipped through the tree's leaves]

{shuffling and struggling as the knight pulls off their chest plate. It clanks to the ground.}

Knight: [trying to steady their voice] If I could just hear your voice again.

{knight sees a figure in the rain and reaches for their sword.}

Knight: [Loudly and stranded but kind of drowned out by the rain] Who goes there!?

{figure gets closer and clearer}

Knight: [Stuttering] You...you...you... What are you doing here?

{Pause}

Knight: No you need to get out of here. The enemy they...they killed them... I need you to leave...

(Listener: I can't leave you)

Knight: [A bit rough and loud] I said you need to leave. They will be here soon. I'll follow after you. {clothes rustling as the Knight looks around fiercely}

(Listener: It's okay. You look exhausted)

Knight: [Franticly] No it's not okay and I'm not tired

{Knight grabs listener's shoulders, shaking them}

Knight: [Serious] You don't understand it at all. [In a softer tone] I need you to be safe.

(Listener: I am safe since I'm with you)

Knight: But...

(Listener interrupts and says: You need to rest even for a moment.)

Knight: [Sighs tiredly] I will only rest for a moment. [Knight slumps back onto the tree.]

{Sword clanks loudly onto the ground. Clothes ruffling as listener sits beside the knight.}

Knight: [breathy] How and why are you here?

(Listener explains that they was gonna pick some of the flowers.)

Knight: [tiredly] oh yeah I see now where you got them for your garden. [inhales] can I lay my head on your lap just so I can rest my eyes?

(Listener nods.)

{Shuffling, crunching of the plants from the knight dragging their tired body to lay down.}

(Listener scolds the knight for crushing the flowers.)

Knight: [Light laugh] I'm sorry about the flowers getting ruined. I'll plant some new ones after I rest.

(Listener pushes knight's hair out of their eyes. Listener: Tell me what happened?)

Knight: [Deep breath] Like I wrote to you, we had a monster hunting expedition in this forest. We set up camp near the monster's den but when we arrived to slay the beast the den was empty. Picked clean. Not a single thing was left. [Deep uneasy breath] We assumed bandits and pulled back to inform the commander. But...[Shaky breathes] when...[Struggling to get the words out] when we returned they were all dead. The tents burning. [Knight can't hold the tears back.] I saw the commander's [gags] head staked on a flag pole...

(Listener pets the knight's head and asks: what flag was it flying?)

Knight: [pure disgust] The Kingdom of Rythian. Those cowards attacked the remaining of us while we were shocked by the sight. I watched my best friend get ran through with his own sword. They laughed while he screamed for everyone to run.

(Pause)

Knight: [Angered] I... I couldn't forgive them, my vision was dyed red. His wide eyes watched me cut down those barbarians. His lifeless eyes cried for my anger. The fighting continued until I was the only one standing. The bodies of friend and foe painted the burned down campsite like some sick joke.

{Knight screams anguishly into the flower field and rain, rapid heartbeat rings in the knight's ears.}

(Listener's voice drowned out: shh its okay now.)

Knight: [crying and sniffling] They're gone... all of them...its just me...Haven't I given enough?

(Long Pause with knight crying fading in and out softly)

Knight: [hoarse] At lease I can rest here, in your arms, surrounded by your favorite flowers. Looking at your face...

(Listener doesn't say anything just smiles down at the knight.)

(Pause)

Knight: [confused noise] Were your eyes that color?.. [tone starting to shift from sad to frantic] {fast heartbeat} Your nose didn't have that arch! Your eyes were {static sound}... who's face is that? You! I don't know your face anymore.

{Knight pushes away from listener. Listener jumps on to the knight. Thud as they roll onto the ground. [knight makes a groan] They roll from under the tree into the rain. Rain should sound a bit louder here.}

(Listener: It's me. I promise it's me. You're just tired. Listener hugs the knight tightly)

Knight: [Breathing hard] Are you sure? Tell me something only you would know.

(Listener pauses.)

Knight: [Demanding] Tell me!

{knight struggling to get away from listener.}

(Listener blurts out something embarrassing about the knight.)

Knight: {stops struggling} [shocked and surprised sound] Okay....okay...yeah maybe I am too exhausted, I thought I was forgetting your face there.

{Sounds of metal shifting as the Knight gets comfortable on their back. They both just breathe under the rain.]

Knight: [Softly] I think it's time to go.

{shifting as the listener gets up.}

(Listener: I think we should be heading back.)

{wet footsteps fade out. As we only hear the Knight breathing.}

Knight: [Broken and getting softer] You always walked ahead even in my memories. So I'll go and I know, that I'll think of you every step of the way. You're the only one that was in my 7 minutes at the end. I'm sorry for painting your favorite flower field in the memories of me. Forgive me for this will be the last memory they will hold.

{Rain starts to lead up and we hear wet footsteps fade in and a sound of a basket dropping.}
