I think the way Gege handled Shrine between Yuji and Sukuna is a very good yet subtle way to really highlight the diffrence between them. They both alter the target of Dismantle and yet both do it in such different ways.

When Sukuna evolves the Dismantle, he alters the target from objects (and people) outwardly to the world/space itself. It highlights how Sukuna does not care what destruction he causes in pursuit of ultimate power purely for the reason he wants to live that way. He created it because he never wants someone to be able to rival him like Satoru Gojo did, so now if another Satoru Gojo ever arrives he can cut them down all the same.

When Yuji evolves the Dismantle, he alters the target from objects (and people) inwardly to the soul. For him it shows that Yuji is a person who instead of looking at just the outside of people he tries to dig deep and look for something to resonate with or understand. Even to Sukuna, the man who has basically 'ruined' his normal life forever and locked him in an everlasting war with Curses — he gives him one more chance, he tries to resonate with him (inside his Domain) and after defeating him even after he declines the orignal offer, he asks again when Sukuna has been stripped down to essentially nothingness (blobkuna) he still offers a hand. Yuji targets the soul; because he tries to see the nuances. He doesn't clump Megumi and Sukuna as the same threat like everyone else did to him originally — and he handles it with care, making sure to only hit the person who caused all the havoc (Sukuna).

Idk I just thought this was an interesting duality, that I haven't had seen talked about🙃. Have a nice day.

One thing I like about Shinjuku is the disparity in the evolution of Shrine
