Started replying to public pain (my filter + first message)

Experiences

Spent the last three months wasting hours sending "quick question" cold DMs on LinkedIn and getting ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE.

I was just so burnt out from getting ignored.

A couple of weeks ago I completely stopped the cold pitching and tried a different approach. I started looking for founders or marketing directors who were actively venting about specific, real-time headaches on my feed (like someone posting a screenshot of a broken checkout page or complaining that their previous dev ghosted them).

But when I first tried replying to these posts, I noticed people would click on my profile and then completely ghost me. I realized my LinkedIn summary and the resume attached to my profile were a complete, unorganized mess from years of jumping between random gigs.

Ran my resume through chatgpt and stuff like resume worded. Apparently my writing was passive and that my formatting made it look like I was just doing basic data entry instead of actual high-level technical problem-solving.

Tweaking the wording based on that feedback made a massive difference; my profile actually looked legit and professional when potential clients clicked over to check me out.

Now when I see someone dealing with a project disaster, I just drop a comment with one quick, actual solution they can use right away, without any pitch or annoying calendar links. If they respond, awesome, we usually end up on a call. If they don't, I just drop it.

It's such a relief to finally have clients talking to me like a human being instead of treating me like spam.

Anyway, I hope this tip is useful for ya'll too.
