White people keep trying to tell me what is wrong with my hair.

Just Venting

Gotta vent; I don't want to hold it personally against them, because otherwise, they only mean well. But this is grinding my gears.

A family friend complimented my new twists and talked about how I should only wear them for now on. I took off my cap and showed how to top of my head was noticably a different lenght.

I had suffered breakage in the past because as a pre teen I wasnt tought how to take care of my hair and was kinda just left to my own devices while my family dealt with some stuff.

My hair is way healthier now, but its still uneven in lenght. I told her this, is why I am more reluctant to get twists. And they quite confidently said "its because you're wearing all those wigs over it. You need to let it breathe". I usually don't let things like this bother me, I don't mind genuine questions, concern and theories, it was just the confidence in which she said it that annoyed me. They think they know everything about how I should handle my hair now that they have a mixed nefew. They try to get me to take their simple oils despite me explaining several times that me and my mom make our own concentrated blend that is far more potent than what you will find in stores.

I wore a wig for 2 months, no glue, only wore it outside over my cornrows, and I was on break; so I wasn't even going out like that. My hair was most certainly breathing the majority of the day.

I have an actual trained hairstylist to tell me what wrong with my hair, my occasional use of light extensions are the least of my problems, and my hair feels super hydrated and healthy everytime I go there, and they comment on the improvement. So why do these guys always think they know better?
