We need the SAT back.

I am so frustrated by the amount of high school math I have to reteach to students. It is slowly driving me nuts. We need the SAT back. It is really bad, especially here in California. I have had to reiterate so many foundational concepts that I am losing it.

It is also so blatantly obvious that some students are cheating. They use AI, score extremely high on 20 minute timed Canvas quizzes, and then show a huge drop in performance on the final exam. The discrepancy is massive, and the methods they use to solve problems are drastically different from what they demonstrate during exams.

We need the SAT back. At least it provided a standardized measure of basic academic preparedness. Right now, I am seeing too many students struggle with concepts they should have mastered years ago, and the gap between coursework performance and actual understanding is becoming impossible to ignore.
