Best external sequencer for matriarch?

I got a Matriarch recently and I absolutely adore it. Great for writing songs, great for exploring sound, easy to pick up hard to master, etc.

I have one gripe though and that's the sequencer. I'm used to TR style sequencers and I would rather have a short sequence with lots of control instead of a long sequence that's kinda set in stone.

The SQ-1 looks really good and simple but I wanna know if there is something better out there?

One idea I think would be cool is to sequence the 4 voice paraphonically, kinda like a more controlled round robin mode but I am totally lost and what that would look like patching and gear wise if it's even possible.
