Basic guide to kitbashing in the slicer
This is a basic guide to kitbhasing in the slicer.
Inspiration: I wanted to create a Tneeztch-themed peacock model with the tail spots (ocelli) with eyes.
Step 1: Find cool models
Step 2: Load them into your slicer
Step 3: Select both models
Step 4: Right click -> merge
Step 5: In the object menu (left), click a merged object. This is required before moving the objects. Otherwise the software will always drop the objects back to the build plate.
Step 6: Scale, move, and rotate until the objects overlap
Step 7: Rotate the camera around to ensure the overlap is actually overlapping. Adjust as needed.
Step 8: Slice and print as normal.
Here's photos of the process plus a bonus painted version from the army I'm making now.
