Questions before adopting.

There is a Great Pyrenees in a kill shelter about 4 hours away from me. The euthanasia date in two weeks. All I currently know is that he was a captured stray, approximately 3 years old and male. I have a 6 year old female golden retriever who is chill, dog friendly and not dominant. I'm going to email the shelter today to get more information. What questions should I ask beyond dog friendly, heart worms and neutered? Anything that you wished you had asked before adoption? I have a large fenced backyard and a dog door.
